Personality |
Scarlet is the exact opposite of Dark in her personality. Much more like Dark was before she became good, her mother has never once had a desire to nurture or protect. Her idea of teaching her pups and helping them is by not helping them, and allowing them to learn painful lessons on their own. While she can be kind enough at times to allow affectionate nuzzles or even play with her pups, she always believed that learning on your own was more important.
While she will play, be kind, and hug her pups occasionally and even her mate, that does not extend to any other wolf, in their kingdom or outside of it. She coveted many things had kept a large collection of precious jewels all to herself instead of giving it out to the needy and poor. She was once poor herself, and learned to be hard and unforgiving on the streets. She is not known for her kindness, but that doesn't matter to demons. They only want strong and vicious wolves to fight the Angels, so she is seen as the perfect Queen. Scarlet has no problems harming others, and especially when causing pain to her most hated enemy, the Angels. She, like many demons, has no idea why the war is taking place and doesn't care. She only wants to prove herself strong. Because of that, her aura, or the shade of her heart, is a very dark purple color, almost to the point of turning black but still noticeably purple. |
Earlier Life |
From a young age Scarlet was an orphan. Having never met her parents or knowing if she had any siblings, she was left alone to cope in the dirty slums far beneath the city and far away from the king and queen. Most pups there either died early on from loneliness or starvation, but Scarlet refused to give up. She gave herself her own name because of her fur, and then set out to make sure that no one ever doubted that she would do great. This desire came from the fact that she was born rather small and was often picked on by older and larger pups.
Most pups in those streets went on to become either soldiers or went off to join the Gladiators, which were both considered great honors for them, especially if they came from the slums. If they didn't die on those streets they were considered the most ruthless of all. Scarlet however planned early on that she was going to become something even greater than anything before her, and she planned on making those that had made her suffer pay. She quickly grew hard and violent on those streets, and soon enough she was running her own little gang there, spitting out highly trained and highly vicious soldiers. Because of this, she caught Fang's eye just after he was crowned king and went searching for his new mate. He quickly went to seek who was in charge of this gang, hoping to meet the wolf responsible for so many good wolves coming from this particular area. As soon as he met Scarlet, and heard of her desire to become greater than ever, he offered her a place as his mate and future Queen. Scarlet immediately snapped up the offer and she was off to the capital, getting ready to be Queen. She began hording gold and jewels to make herself seem more important and prove to everyone that she wasn't the same scrappy pup that had been lost on those streets so long ago. Despite viewing her marriage to Fang as a sort of business arrangement she soon realized that they did have some things in common, and eventually those things, coupled with their blood lust, drove them together. The two became inseparable and then began to do everything, including moving the armies together. Their three children, Malice, Dark and Rage were soon born, and Scarlet was content with her family. She and Fang carefully raised their pups to be vicious fighting machines, and then she saw great promise in Dark and she agreed with her husband that Dark would be their successor. Other than being rich and opposite colors, Dark was exactly like her mother at that time, meaning that they had no fear of a weak ruler. It wasn't until the botched treaty, and her mate's disappearance, that Scarlet began to truly reveal her fierce nature. After killing Queen Halia of the Angels to "save" her mate, they incited a bloody battle known as the Battle of Broken Skulls. During this battle, both Fang and Scarlet were killed. Nick, grief stricken at the death of his wife, managed to ignore the agony that he felt from Fang's powers and kill the King of Demons. The Queen, also maddened by grief, too joined in battle with him. She however discovered that her pups were close to the battle between her and Nick and chose to use the last of her powers to save them before dying beneath Nick's lance too, proving that she did indeed have a heart somewhere in her chest. |
Abilities |
Scarlet's demon form is known as First Blood. She can draw up blood spilled on the battle field and add it to her almost liquid like body, which coats the parts of her that can be damaged far beneath the constantly bubbling armor. If she is using her demon form and blood is spilled near her, it will immediately join her body and make her stronger and grow in size. This is part of the reason that she is such a good partner to Fang, who can leave a bloody mess of his enemies in his wake.
In her demon form, Scarlet is usually slow and menacing. She doesn't move quickly but she can summon blood off of her body to create nearly impenetrable shields and weapons made of the blood, which can be used by her magic to create an effective and barbaric display of power. If the enemy is cut but still alive, she can draw all of the blood out of the body through the wound, killing the wolf in question. She can also use the blood through the wound to crush internal organs and otherwise destroy the enemy. Coming in contact with her body can be a death sentence too, as she can use her blood armor to surround and suffocate a wolf. It is only when her armor leaves her "body", to suffocate a wolf or create weapons or shields, that she becomes truly vulnerable. What is left behind is a pulsing heart, which is the center of her being. If that is damaged heavily she will die. During the Battle of Broken Skulls, that is how Scarlet dies. In using her armor to make a shield to protect her pups from Nick's attack, she leaves herself open to being attacked herself and dies. |
